Core Values & Mission Statement

The Heart Behind Willow Tree Wellness & Psychotherapy

Willow Tree Wellness & Psychotherapy was born from the love and resilience of my mother, Laurie. Throughout her life, Laurie demonstrated incredible strength, compassion, and grace. Her unwavering patience and selflessness in caring for others, especially during times of hardship, left a lasting imprint on me and continues to guide my approach to therapy.

The symbol of the willow tree in my logo holds deep meaning for me. During a 16-hour hospital visit with my mother, I asked her what coping strategy she used as a child when she was stressed or anxious. She shared that she would sit under a big willow tree, its branches forming a safe, protective fort around her. This simple but profound memory has shaped my approach to therapy—a reminder of the importance of finding safety, shelter, and peace, even in the most challenging times. I honor the memory and legacy of my mother through this logo.

At Willow Tree Wellness & Psychotherapy, I strive to create that same sense of security and support for my clients. Whether you are navigating anxiety, depression, big life transitions, emotional regulation challenges, school or work-related stress, grief, trauma, family conflict, or neurodevelopmental disorders such as ADHD and Autism, my goal is to provide a compassionate space where you feel grounded and empowered to explore your emotions, build resilience, and move toward meaningful change.

Having personally navigated through significant loss, illness, and change, I understand the intricacies of grief, growth, and healing. My experiences—including my time volunteering in hospice care and working in crisis intervention—have reinforced my belief in the power of connection and support.

Whether I’m helping a child manage their emotions, guiding a teenager through self-discovery, or supporting adults and parents through life’s transitions, my mission is clear: to provide a warm, inclusive, and compassionate environment where individuals and families can find peace, strength, and a sense of belonging.

The willow tree in our logo symbolizes Laurie’s ability to remain grounded and calm, even amidst life’s storms. Just as she found comfort sitting under willow trees when stressed, I strive to create a peaceful, supportive space for my clients—helping them feel heard, understood, and nurtured, no matter what they are going through.

In her honor, I dedicate this practice to fostering growth, authenticity, and resilience in every person who walks through our doors. Just as Laurie was a beacon of light and support to those around her, it is my mission to offer the same warmth and understanding to those who seek healing.

Even in her darkest days, my mom reminded me that there’s always room for joy. Just days before her passing, she shared this big belly laugh that I'll always treasure—proof that even in the face of stage IV cancer, there’s still light and laughter to be found. Her spirit inspires me to help others find hope, no matter the struggle.
